Garrett 11psi WG Actuator: ~$112 http://www.atpturbo....tegory_Code=WGT
Rod extension kit: ~$8 http://www.atpturbo....y_Code=ATP-FTG2
Old/broken volvo wastegate (to steal the bracket from): ~$15
Moar Bewst: priceless :P

Driving impressions: HOLY CRAP! This turbo finally feels like I expected it to when I first installed it. I am EXTREMELY happy with the garrett actuator. With no pre-load on it, I am holding a steady 20psi, and only at redline does boost slowly begin to fade. (Using an EBC to control boost). I haven't driven the car much, but from the pulls I did I believe I am at ~17psi at redline. With the old actuator I was at 14psi before redline, so the car feels a LOT faster. I'm not sure if this is just a placebo effect, but boost seems to build quicker too. More importantly, due to the increased boost, my AFRs have leaned out, which I am also happy about. At WOT I am right around 11.0, whereas before AFRs were 10.1. I would seriously recommend this actuator to anyone looking to replace theirs. In my opinion, this is an excellent, if not better alternative to the 19T actuator.

Sorry for the crappy pictures, but they get the basic idea across.

Pictures:

Used a chisel & hammer to separate the WG from the bracket:

Smoothed down the bracket with a dremel: (you can also see the marks I made in preparation to drill the two holes for the WG actuator bolts)

Posted Image

Test fit: (note: I had to get creative with some adapter nuts from the hardware store, as the garrett actuator on it's own is about an inch shorter than the volvo actuator)

Hopefully I will have the chance to dyno again soon. I hope to see much higher numbers this time (at least 270whp).

nice job Adam, Ben turned me onto this and I got one for my car last year. Eventually planning to get these brackets made. If there's interest from other people I can do it sooner than later.

B/C I got a cheap downpipe when I first bought the car. I'm going to swap the conical housing out for an angled housing and have the downpipe re-worked to fit.

Nice job Adam.
"Property is the fruit of labor...property is desirable...is a positive good in the world. That some should be rich shows that others may become rich, and hence is just encouragement to industry and enterprise. Adam what boost do you hit with the boost controller off? I hit 9psi at 3k rpm, and by 6.5k rpm the boost increases to 13-14psi.

Very Nice! I actually started working on separating a bracket from an old beat 16T actuator I had. Did you use ATP's wastegate rod extension kit? I know you said miscellaneous hardware, care to explain.

Didn't know they had one!!! Damn, that would have made things a lot easier. The misc hardware I used was just a threaded rod and a couple nuts to extend the w/g arm.
