Just when I was starting to think about keeping the R and getting it back into shape. My wife has been using it for a commuter. She called and said it smelled funny and the CEL had come on. I had her pull off the highway and when I got to her here is what I found:





I don't think I am going to bother with fixing it at this point. The big question is do I want to really post 100 for sale ads or do I just want to CL it?

craiglist it, most likely it just needs new radiator and cooling system flushed several times exact same thing happened on friends volvo, radiator and repeated coolant flushes to get junk out took care of problem

In the tranny thread you suggested it could be the radiator. I see the logic in that and it makes sense. Why do you now not think that's whats going on?

Radiator seems most logical, only other thing it could be is a warped/lifted head, or crack in cylinder wall
