I change the oil every 5000 miles. If you are saying about engine flush I don't ever
do that nor is it recommended. Good oil provides enough cleaning with detergents which are built in. Engine flush is not needed, he is only a way for people to make
money. Spend the money on professional cleaning of fuel injectors in place of flush which is crap

Take a good look into your oil fill port. Do you see gummy sludge in the low spots or hard brown varnish on the cam lobes? Hard black grit? Don't be concerned about a brown stain in the pores of the aluminum castings.
I've had no success with the harsh solvent fast flush products and very good success with Auto-Rx for slow, complete cleaning of engines, transmissions, and power steering.
I disagree with Rich. I know, he sees lots more engines than I ever will, but I believe in 5000 mile to 10,000 mile oil drain intervals subject to the type of driving and the quality of the oil used, and subject to annual oil analysis to find problems before they get to be expensive problems.

I don't beleive in engine flushes either. A good quality synthetic will keep your engine clean.
Auto-Rx will slowly and gently clean up old deposits without harming your engine, but it is not considered a 'flush'.

You should check out an Auto-Rx test on a heavily sludged 1993 Nissan 240SX.
This is almost a worse-case scenario. The before/after pics and compression readings are amazing.
This was a rather lengthy test but it showed that slower is better.
