2 weeks exactly after my extended warranty ends and I get my first ever check engine light. Lately, I've been losing coolant to no visible place (can't see leaks under the car, nothing visible in the engine bay) and I was going to take it in on Monday to get it checked. So, loss of coolant and CEL...exactly 2 weeks after warranty...Volvo could not have planned this any better. I pray to god it isn't the head gasket. I have no reason to blow a head gasket...this sucks.

What code is set? Do you have a code reader? If not, get to Autozone and they will read it and reset the MIL. Calm down.

Yeah, it happened at likk 11:45 at night, so I'm just gonna take it to the dealership and have a few of my guys there check it for me, tell me what it is, and then let me decide if I can fix it myself or not. I think I'm mostly angry at the warranty thing....2 effing weeks...unbelievable.

They may cut you a break on the repair since it happened 2 weeks after your warranty ran out. Did you ever have big repairs done under warranty?

One of my friends had the same situation, his tranny died a week or so after his warranty ended. The dealer cut the cost for him, pretty nice smile.gif

Good luck with it.

I think the biggest was wheel bearings. Both front ones.

No coolant smell anywhere, that's what worries me. Went to Autozone and pulled the code, P0442 Evaporative Emission Control System Leak Detected (small leak), which has nothing to do with the coolant thing. This is fantastical. 2 weeks after, and 2 problems. Yes, I checked the gas cap, and it's on tight. Last time I refueled was Friday night and the first time the CEL came on was Sunday night, so I don't think that's it. Any ideas? Lookin at you Rich :-D. Also, what's the series of steps to turn of the darn service light (not the CEL)?

Add on top of all of it a possibly blown subwoofer and, man oh man, do I have a party going on. I've decided, I'm never coming home again.....everytime I do, something crappy happens.

To turn off the service light. Key to position I, with your left hand push in and hold the odometer reset button, now turn the key to position II, when you see the service light blinking, release the odometer reset button.
