I'm looking at buying a 98 V70 AWD but can't find any reliable info on what the standard engine was for this model. The used car dealer selling it didn't know which engine it had and wasn't prepared to find out.
I have seen mixed information,
- the NA 168 bhp,
- another couple says 190-193 LPT
- yet another said the only engine was the HPT - which I thought would only be for the R.
Does anyone know what is the correct standard engine? or where I can find reliable specs on line?
I am driving a 94 Turbo with a slushbox (which I hate) so I figure shifting can help make up for a loss of 30 bhp, but not sure I want to drop down to 168. Any thoughts?

I've had my V70 AWD for almost 2 years now and i still dont know if its a 2.3 or a 2.4. Dam i'm stupid
I do know that its the 190hp LPT tho - Mine is 5-speed stick tho
Halifax - i suggest getting it - i love my car, if your not speciufically lookin for 5-speed tho, hold out for a HPT V70 R AWD
