Recently I have noticed that when making right hand turns there is sometimes a chirping or squeeking sound. Only when making right hand turns and only during sharper turns, so this is generally at low speeds. I had the power steering rack replaced about 6 weeks ago (and fluid was changed then as well). I was thinking it might be the pully tensioner for the power steering pump but why only going right?

Any input is welcome.

Turn your heater fan off next time you make the turn and see if it goes away, if it does, it's your blower motor needs replacing.

Ditto. My car does the same thing (makes that sound). Adjusting the fan speed usually makes the sound go away.

With the chirping sound, is the blower motor working less effectively? Or is it just an early sign that it will one day stop working?

Um....... Bay,

I have a question

I stuck my friends ECU out of his 850 T5R in to my 850 T5R, when I took it out and put mine back in, the lights next to the "rec" and "ac" blink several times when I start the car?...I took my car to my mechanic to look at and his computer code read could not comunicate with my car? blink.gif

Any suggestions?

Why would it only do it during right hand turns? blink.gif

Has to do with the way the fan is in the climate control box, the right turn just loads it up correctly for the noise.

Aah, well I will try that next time I hear it. I think it is about the only part of the climate control I haven't replaced at this point. Any idea on how much a stealership might charge?

Definitely a DIY job(2 hours give or take for a first timer). Look in the maintenance section for access to passenger dash, that will get you to the blower. You can pick up a motor with fan for about $200. You can pick up the motor alone for about $125, but you have to get your old fan off. It's tough, but can be done.

Best wagon ever if the damn airbox would stop vibrating and it didn't have a Ford Escort headliner.
