1995 850 - Uncoupling Heater Core Hoses?

The instructions for replacing the heater core seem straight forward.

How are the 2 hoses near the firewall uncoupled from the heater core nipples ? I am not familiar with this type of fitting. Is a special tool required ?

Also, what in the the way of washers/seals/O-Rings/etc are needed to fit the new hose/heater core at the same coupling point? Does Volvo sell a kit with all these parts?

No special tool required.

Push in hose inward a bit, press on the yellow clips and pull hose outward. You might need to jiggle it out of there.
