Often thought of the question but never asked ?

Would it be possible to rip out the ETS sytem [ from 99 + ] and fit the car
with the 98 and prior cable drivin throttle system?

Would the cost make it a bad idea?

If the Marelli Throttle modules are going to fail every 50 k would it be cost
effective in the long run to change back to Fly-by-Cable.

thx

pretty much far harder than it's worth.

IIRC, once the stock ETB/S fails, it gets replaced by Volvo with an "updated unit" which is very unlikely to fail again.

so going from ETB to MTB would be pretty silly IMO.

man that's a lot of acronyms. tongue.gif

Well the ETS was on MTV when VHI did its VMA's, Then MTV did the VMC when TLC got with TB and CEL. SO all in all CEL and TB were mad at MTV and VH1 for not putting them on the VMA's. WHOA boy smile.gif smile.gif

ANyways on a serious note, I dont think that woudl work anyway. Im pretty sure the ecu would stuff all over that idea. sad.gif

Not something that can be done. The Electronic Throttle body is part of the net on the car, and if it wasn't there, all kinds of engine codes would be set. and the car would not run.
