When I am at idle, approx. every 15 seconds, I hear a click from the engine, accompanied by a drop in engine speed (by about 100 RPM)-- and then it comes right back up to normal very quickly.

Is this something to be concerned about? Is it normal?

Thanks!

do you have your A/C turned on? if you have your Defrost turned on, your A/C is on then too.

Idle Air Control motor either needs cleaning or replaced. You should also try cleaning the throttle body.

The clicking noise sounds like it could be your A/C compressor kicking in. Make sure you don't have Defrost selected and the a/c is off and see if the noise is still there. Look down at the compressor when the noise happens and see if thats it.

I have a simalar Idle Noise problem....my engine area has a rattle noise..followed by clicks at random itervals. Although my RPM doesn't dip like yours. I think mine could be an A/C problem as well, because our aircon currently has 7 error faults and something could be causing that noise. We're going to see if we can get it fixed soon though. I hope it's coming from the A/C rather then something else in the engine bay.

Anyway...i think you should get yours checked out as well.
