Has anyone here had the neutral control removed from their 01 S60 or V70? If so, what did the software download cost? I called my mechanic today and was informed that he didn't have the capability to do the software update. I called the dealership and was told it would be $170 to update the software removing the neutral control. I'm completely guessing here, but that sounds utterly ridiculous.
Anyone have any advice? If you had it done could you please tell me where it was done so I can call up my dealership and call I'm dumb on their price.

The software is 35-40 from Volvo, and the normal labor for a software up date is one hour. So $170 sounds a bit high, you might ask them to break it out for you, parts and labor.
