i was just outside trying to get my koni's off to adjust the rear shocks and i can't get them off.
I jacked up the car and then put a bottle jack underneath the shock and it seems to be stuck on the bolt. i think the rubber grommet is holding it on. how do i get it off. i pried pretty hard and couldn't get it off. i don't remember having this problem with my oem when i changed them two years ago.
why is it doing this. has anyone else had this problem.

WD-40 or rubber soap/dishwash detergent. And wiggle.
Deadblow hammer applied carefully.
Make sure suspension isn't loaded w/tension or compression.

yeah i tried wd-40 and couldn't get it off. i thought about using a hammer but i wasn't sure where to hit. i mean it's really on there and i don't know how hard i would have to hit it to make it come off. the rubber grommet gives a good bit, but won't move off the bolt.

Make sure the shock is not "loaded" like I said
You can use a prybar carefully to ease shock and grommet off the post.
You can use hammer gently to persuade it as well using brass punch around bottom /grommet.
After, clean mounting stud well and apply silicone or some other chemical that won't attack the rubber grommet.

I just installed rear Bilstein HD's on Friday - so it's fresh on my mind.
With the car supported on jack stands - just place the flooor jack under the rear spring housing and adjust until it slips right off.
Just needs a neutral loading bias and the shock should easily slide off.
DO NOT USE A SLEDGHAMMER
However, OK to wedge a crowbar in there and wiggle it free.
Good Luck !
