Great forum - just registered after purchasing a 95 850. I need to replace the PNP switch and read the very detailed description by Bay 13. Thanks a lot!

Problem is when I went to my local dealer to purchase the alignment tool I was told they could not sell it to me (Dalzell Vovlo, Dedham MA). I have been searching the net for the last hour to no avail.

Can anyone tell me where to get this tool?

Rich

Just a note.. I replaced my PNP switch without the "alignment tool" and have had no problems thus far. I say you just try it and see what happens. smile.gif

I just received the PNP switch via UPS from FCP and as I was looking it over I had the same thought - maybe I can do it without the tool (and save some bucks). Thanks for the confirmation!

Dalzell is an alright dealer, try maybe Lee Volvo, or maybe go further out to the Performace Motoring Volvo Dealership in Amherst, I don't mean drive there, but they are an IPD dealer, so maybe they'd help with tools and such too, since they do aftermarket stuff.

Fill in your profile by the way, always good to see some more MA people.

That's the performance motoring place. I think they have a website too:

Rich,

Dalzell is a good service dealer when comparing with Boston Volvo. However, when coming down to purchase parts and tools, Boston Volvo is the best so far. I ordered my alignment tool from Boston Volvo last summer. They will sell you anything you ask for. Moreover, you will get internet price (20% discount) if you email the part department to inquire the price first. That's how I started to deal with them. I buy all the parts for my 850 from Boston Volvo via email, then I go to their part department early in the morning (about 7:00 AM) to pick it up before going to work. If I cannot make it in the morning to pick up the parts, I can pay the parts with credit card via email then pick up the parts from the front desk after 5:00 PM. They won't keep the credit card information in record, so you have to provide them the card info every time.
