Cruise Control Accelerates on its own

Was wondering if anyone ever had the car accelerate on its own past the cruise setting? I set mine to 60 and about a few seconds later it accelerates on its own to about 70. Plus it will not disengage when I push the cruise button to OFF. I have to step on the brake to disengage it.

Right now I'm guessing it is a bad cruise control/turn signal handle or maybe a bad vehicle speed sensor (my speedo works though). But let me know what you guys think it is. As far as I know I have no vacuum leaks and the control module is ok.

Well the stalk could be bad, it should turn off when you hit the button. But if the cruise module,(really a relay looking thing in the cowel fuse box) was bad that might be the problem. With a Volvo scan tool they can hook it up and check the functions of the stalk and the brake pedal.
