Selling And Buying Items On The Board

Its totally free and the reason why the for sale section is being phased out. For sale going away has nothing to do with revenue.
Yeah, not a fan of the auctions myself. I'd rather purchase or sell things without getting into a bidding war. But thanks for the info. What exactly does the auction feature have to do with limiting access to the for sale section? Or is for sale going away completely for all members?

For sale will go away once I have a new system in place with the auctions. With the auctions to avoid bidding you can make it a buy it now only. But shortly the auctions will have a traditional classifieds system.

I can deal with a few days, but this has been going on for months now.
You just gonna give out peoples email addresses? Im not very sure, but I don’t remember Inlineturbo asking for his email (I believe he just said that he doesn’t have an email listed), and second I don’t remember Inlineturbo asking that the board should see his email. And 3rd I didn’t see HtownTurboBricks profile having his email address set for everyone to see. Now maybe a pm was sent to you asking for an email and im wrong about that, but I don’t feel its right to give out his information for the rest of the board to see. Or maybe you sent HtownTurboBrick a pm/email asking him if it was fine to tell everyone else his email?
If someone posts a comment that I said sold them some parts and didn’t ship, are you gonna give out my email? Is my subscriber information, including how I paid for it, safe?
My credit card gonna be posted, my name, address, social security number?
Now you could have just listed a fake email and the above doesn’t apply but it does seem like you listed the real deal to me.

I agree and I sincerely hope it's not lip service that things are going to get back to normal with the classifieds. I've purchased several things in the FS forum and I miss it. It was a real resource and to change it to a subscription service is very unfortunate. As you can all see, I don't post much, I mostly just read since you're the ones with the knoweledge and I'm the one with the broken car...
Oh well, as long as I can't look for parts for my 850 I can always head over to tbricks and find the stuff I need to fix up my 240.

So is the the auction section. And there are pictures if the sellers upload them. I cannot control if the seller is savvy enough to upload an image just as I could not before..

For the auctions, there's only like 20-30 things on at a time, and a lot of the stuff you might not even want. Plus, you either wait for the auciton to end and bid, or you do the buy it now (which is usually a lot higher than you might want to pay).
I think one of the key things about classifieds on forums, is the feedback aspect. The buyer doesn't need to send a PM (which almost seems like you're committing to buying) and the buyer can ask a general questions that many others may be wondering about. Plus, other members can give feedback on the product. So we can know if said part is great, or if the price is terrible and you can get something brand new for cheaper.
This is the only site that I'm on that has such a system in place, and there is definitely a discrepancy in For Sale posts here.
I like this site a lot, but the selling section seems to need fixing. I'm not so sure most people like auctions. And i mean if they honestly want to go by auction, you list it on Ebay.
I understand there is a revenue aspect (paying for a store), but I think I speak for the majority of people when I say i'm not a huge fan of the auctions.
Edit: I don't know how the old system was, or how well that worked, but this is just my 2 cents from my time on the board.

Wrong topic chief. You're gonna want to advertise those rims in the VS auction area, or if you become a supporting member, in the for sale forum. (You cannot post a new for sale ad without a supporting membership, though auctions are free to all)
