October 06'-- My transmission died and i searched VS for a performance solution, this led to level 10. I contacted Pat Barrett at Level 10 who i have dealt with since the beginning. I made numerous phone calls to them with questions which they promtly answered and i then set up a date of which i would be dropping the transmission off and they told me a 1 week turnaround.
Next, i set up a date with my indy mechanic to drop the trans which i then put on a skid and drove it to Level 10. I made 2 calls during the week regarding the process they made and they responded with good service. I went to Level 10 to pick up the rebuilt transmission and took it back to my indy mechanic. This was installed within a few days and then my mechanic took the car for a drive and noticed something was wrong. He called level 10 and spoke to them directly which led to Level 10 coming to York, PA with a roll-back and picking up the car and taking it to their shop to fix.
A few weeks had gone by of my car being at Level 10 and i was told it was done but here was my first real problem with them. Pat barrett told me that their tow driver was on vacation for a few weeks so i would have to come pick up the car myself which i was pissed about since there the ones who took it to Jersey. This was 3 weeks before thanksgiving, I left one day to get my car (keep in mind this is a 4 hour drive!) i get there and pick it up. Leaving everything was fine so i stopped for lunch which took about 20 minutes, while i was eating i think some trans fluid either leaked out of a seal blew when i pulled in because when i was leaving it felt weak, i still had not known what it felt like to drive because of the 3K stall converter. 20 minutes down the road, i called my dad who was in front and told him to pull over cause the car was shifting extremely hard and i smelled ATF.
I immediately called Pat at Level 10 and he said he would send a tow truck so he gave me the number.. It was the same number as the one who was "on vacation" He came 30 minutes later and picked up the car and took it ot level 10. 2 weeks later, they had the problem fixed and i had them tow the car to hanover because i drove 8 hours for nothing
I broke in the trans over thanksgiving and it lasted till Christmas day (great present) when it started to slip a lot. I called Pat and he said id have to bring him the car. I took him the car on a dolly and its been 4 weeks and there just now working on it.
My opinion of level 10 is that they are happy when they have a chance to get your money and once they have it, you might as well not deal with them or attempt to call because people will be "out of town" or "on vacation" Right now i am PI$$3D and i want my car for the weekend! Take what you want from this but id recommend a local shop for a high performance transmission or stall converter.
Dealing with them is not worth the frustration.
