I hop in the car to head back from a meeting in Cincinnati and am greeted by the Check engine light. Seems to be driving the same, all fluids look legit, gas mileage back to Louisville wasn't too bad. So methinks it could be the oxygen sensor? Without a code reader I'm proper fuct though............Anyone have this problem before.

Always start with the cheapest possibility: was the gas cap on tight?

Stop at an Advance Auto Parts (Other stores may also provide this service, I do not know, and have no association, financial or otherwise, with Advance) they will read the code, and give you the computer interpretation of it, free of charge.

i think it strange to come on the boards and tell us there's a check engine light without "checking" what the light is about

Yes, I don't have the codes and it's not the gas cap. No advance auto here and I wouldn't trust the autozone folk to make my coffee. i have an appointment with an independent shop tomorrow. Looking back maybe I was just pissed and not really looking for an answer. Thanks though.......
