The rollcage is coming along nicely. These are'nt current pics and since John @ Evil Genius Racing [who is doing the fab work I can't do] has made more progress now that the plates and main hoop are done.

shameless plug http://www.evilgeniusracing.com

John also has my turbo [some of you know what it is cool.gif ], WG, header and will be doing some work involving that stuff as well as the cage [as well as making a bracket setup to make the sunroof shell removable].

I'll just stick with this thread and keep updating as more progress is made on the car, up until it is back up and hitting the track hopefully this spring.

That's John's hand, and yes I'm having him doing most of the stuff involving a welder.

Went up to Davis today to John's shop.

He had the flu so he's a little behind on some stuff, but no worries. Went up there, went over a few things, BS'ed, planned out more things to try out on the car. Should be interesting!

Rollcage is almost done

Shot of the front plates

Just finished the first downbar

These shots don't do justice to how snug it is

Where the rear plates are

One of the front plates

Some other shots

We're hoping to have the majority of the work done by the end of next week, than I might come up with my parts for a few days to finish swapping in the T5, chassis wiring, and the dash! tup.gif

Great day today - ate at In-N-Out on the way up, Chipotle on the way back, and stopped at a Bevmo and bought a sixer of some damn tasty beer you can't normally find here

I might add it's almost a 300 mile round trip up to his shop - and it rained today. Wrecks all over HWY 17.

The front bars are going to the firewall, not through it and to the strut towers. Note the position of the front plates.

Kinda weird angle but you get the idea. John made the plates near the footwell on the floor [not on the firewall] large enough to cover an exposed drainhole, yet still legal.

Might add that the chassis has stiffened up enough that John raised the car with a jack and the windsheild cracked. Fairly common apparently but I found it funny.

I might have to make a run over to San Jose in the 242 to get more of that beer. I'm down to one laugh.gif
