OK...I'm out in the cold here. I'm going to ask a coupla dumbass question here cos I don't understand.

8.8 lbs less than standard means it's going to rev harder??? What/who are "China" rods?

Sorry, I'm not mechanically minded but I want to try to understand what you guys are talking about.

The info could be important (2 me) in the future.

Thanx.

If you read the first page of this thread you can see a nice picture of a connecting rod which was made in China.

The lesser weight makes the engine respond a bit better.

No, same stroke but ~8.8 lbs less. Direct drop in yes.

definitely a nice drop in rotational mass. though a reduction in weight almost always means less material. is it still as strong as the older cranks?

Update,

The engine rebuild is finished so far,

Started another thing I kept postponing..

The wiring loom for the standalone EMS,

Because it is all experimental I left the looms at full length. the ECU will probably end up somewhere in the centre console..

Changes made are,

MAF connection removed. Injector setup changed from batch fire to sequential. connections used are,

2 x knock
5 x injectors
1 x TPS
1 x CLT
1 x IAT
1 x MAP
2 x trigger
1 x narrow band lambda for CLL

Things left are RPM, ignition drive and some power.

Loom is already back in the car connected on the engine, need to make a pass through in the firewall.

ECU's, we don't need no stinking ECU's!

Brave man to undertake such a wiring project, I'd never be able to do something like this.
