I'm wery about trucks now-a-days. They're fairy light if they're not carrying anything, and they have enough hood space to add some serious mods, and a really big engine!

I used to take them for granted. Had my Z34 up to peak preformance and this guy in a Chevy short bed pick-up comes rolling up next to me. I laughed him off thinking that a truck was a truck and couldn't pull the kind of acceleration cars could. I was wrong. He nailed me down by a good two car lengths (more like truck lengths), enough to make me depressed for the rest of the day.

I don't know what you got, but taking on a Ford Lightning is a good way to see what your car is really made of.

Peace!

Not really. I don't have any exact figures but I think full size trucks weigh anywhere from 4000-6000 lbs. That is heavy. The only trucks I'd be too worried about surprising you are diesels. They can throw lots of boost at them and make them quick for relatively cheap.

That sounds a bit high. I'm not positive but I think it's more like 25:1.

Diesel is crazy... It's so easy to mod those trucks and hit 400 RWH, and 900+ ft lb's... I miss mine sometimes.. sad.gif Then I look at the Volvo... biggrin.gif

Are we talking static or effective CR?

The static ones aren't ussualy that high, else you wouldn't be able to turbo them (let alone start it). BUT, the effective (under boost) CR's they can achieve often are that high.

Gotta love having a combustion chamber the size of half a ping pong ball

He's not going to win, because he doesn't have his 850 anymore!
