First of all I think you have more cage in the car. Also the heater core is still in ? Heater is something near 12 kg. I don't know if there is a weight difference between Alter 1 and Alter 2, could be in the type of steel used in the safety structure?. From what I can see the body is the same, no extra reinforcement like with the S70 body. No turbo, no intercooler, no turbo plumbing, no aux frame to the engine except for a small plate holding the alternator. The EHPS used is a bit heavier than the stock PS pump I think, didn't check. Minimal wiring harness, everything not used is also removed from the looms. No electric window motors. Manual operated window mechanisms are still in but fronts only have levers. No door panels except driver door. Everything inside the dash shell removed. All the sound deadening stuff has also been removed.

One thing I didn't do with the SDM but done with the red 850 is lightening the front bumper bar. I drilled many larger holes in the bar. (Just because the bar was out I wanted to see how that would go. biggrin.gif )

Still the weight savings are much less than one would expect.

    1. Heater is gone, along with all piping. Even the plastic distribution channels has been cut right next to the ventilation motor and been replaced by a hose that now ends in a Honda Civic (Thanks Slater!) ari vent right next to the hand brake lever. btw: i doubt that the heater core weighs more than 5 kgs it felt like 50 layers og aluminum foil. Dont know about the 'water savings' tho.
    2. i even got rid of all passenger window electric AND mechanical stuff
    3. As far as Wagon and saloon is concerned: the wagon is significantly longer. And mybe they have some Volvo safety issues with that optional rear bench.

Without the fuel 1245 kg including the cage.

One seat, glass windows are still in.

yet another nice built from the MAN biggrin.gif

Handling with those cup tires should phenomal.

1245 kgs leaves me behind in sheer envy...on the other hand i know that weight distribution of the limo is even worse in terms of understeer than the wagon's. Especially with IPD bars up rear... wink.gif

Johann, do you happen to know what the real weight difference between wagon and saloon is? And why does it seem so much, like 60 KGS?

my car is at 1330 kg with some wild 100ft of tubing for the cage.
Assuming that the cage weighs like 40 to 50 kgs, it would be something like around 1290 naked.

If i recall correctly my car weighed in at 1550 kgs being fully stock.

Pretty much the only thing left to do is a CF hood and expecially get all seven windows except windshield replaced in macrolon/ lexan.

I would think that would gain another 30 to 40 kgs. But i am happy if someone knows better and corrects me.
