T5Shortblock'S Winter Storage Project Thread.
Posted 25 Oct 2009
Hi fellas, I have a few trick projects involving a few nice parts aligned for this storage season... I'm storing the beast on Haloween night like every year, so these projects and install will start in a mater of days. I'm simply waiting on delivery of a few parts...
Yesterday I fabed up another intercooler bracket because the one I had originaly made decided to snap... I make my brakets out of aluminium and simply bend and cut the metal until it reaches it's desired shape. A bracket like this necessitates an hour or 2 of work (including all the removal and re instalment of parts to access the intercooler) and very basic handtools. Material used is some simple Alu bar you can find at any hardwear store.
Removed the bumper and set the intercooler to it's proper height for new bracket.

broken bracket

old backet was made out of .75 inch 1/8 thick bar while the new one is made with 1.50inch wide 1/8th thick bar

Real men use Hand tools!!
just kiding, i just don't happen to have a band saw.

A bit of bending

a hole for the bolt, and voila!

I'll tease you guys with my new parts when they come in the mail this week... installs will be soon to follow, stay tuned!

Something Is Loose In The Front End
Posted 21 Oct 2009
car is a 2002 v70t5 Happens since I installed my quaife, i did a 1-2 pull againsts those new M3s a few weeks ago and when I shifted to second there seemed to be a crack type of noise, the car hooked up... to much.
Since then:
Often times when I drive over a slight lump, or when the car drops off an entrence or a small dip comming out of a driveway, i feel like there is something loose,
I removed the 2 front wheels and examined everything seems solid, control arm bushings are mint, ball joints as well... any suggestions? Everything seems ok around the axels and tranny. End links are tight... I don't know man...

Short Film: My Beast
Posted 21 Oct 2009
Hey fellas, as some of you might remember I made a semi-professinal movie with a studio called AdvanTech in my region, the guy is a student and does this on his down time... We had trouble with the video when it was time to export it, and we never got a final cut, fast forward 2 years later, well yesterday, the guy got back to me after trying the old project in a new program, it worked, although there are alot of mods since then, you wouldn't notice them besides for the drop, car sounds pretty much the same, so the video is still somewhat acurate...

That said, I was thinking of picking up a set from Eurosport tuning, I sent him a note to see where he gets them, they are blanks by Eurorotor... anyone ever buy these? Any good?
here is the link to the actuall product... 189$ for the pair

I would be getting this 40$ cadmium plating done as well, prevents rust, and all black would look kinda cool!
