Confuddled Again
Posted 1 Oct 2009
So I just went out and video tapped a few runs so that I could properly monitor my AFRs and timing while driving. My ECU is still pulling timing when first in boost, then probably after a full second brings it back. While the boost is being pulled, AFRs are low-mid 10s. Then when timing comes back the AFRs go up to mid to high 11s sometimes just over 12. The car just flies when the timing comes in, but why is it being pulled? My AFRs seem safe enough.
This is with whites, ST stage II ecu, running 15psi, 16T, LPT engine.
Still confused on why the ECU is pulling timing for at least a full second everytime I mash it. It feels like the afterburners kick in 1 or 2 seconds after I floor it. Fine if it was a saab, but it's a damn volvo.
Any ideas? I'm out of them again. -
Lpt-->Hpt Guys, I Found A Setup That Works!
Posted 25 Sep 2009

Finally got my wideband and EGT in. EGTs under long, full-boost runs never goes over 1000F. AFRs at full boost are between 10.2-11. Highest I've seen at WOT was 11.1 which I think is really decent. Maybe too 'safe' for some of you, but for the 2.4 people, I think it's just right
. This is at 15psi.
So the run down, I got this setup with an S60R mani, 3" downpipe, 16T, white injectors, speedtuning stage II tune and other little mods that don't make a difference. I think with this much fuel it could easily handle 17-18psi, but I'm not planning on trying it anytime soon. She's plenty fast to scare the crap out of people already.
Anyways, just thought I'd put it out there for any of the LPT guys. There's a lot of debate over what tune, injectors etc. to use when going HPT. Just found a setup that works pretty decently. -
Where To Route Wideband/Egt Wiring?
Posted 24 Sep 2009
Is the only option for running the wideband and EGT wires (which are larger than most) drilling a hole in the firewall and routing them that way? The pass through is way too small. The only option you'd have there is cutting the connectors off and reconnecting them on the other side.
Any other suggestions would be great, I'd like to get this finished tonight. -
I Haz To Put The Wag To Sleep For The Winter
Posted 23 Sep 2009
So I've been getting really conflicting reports on how to store the wagon. Some say a car cover, some say no to a car cover, some say to give it an oil change before hand, drain the gas, etc. I'm just confused.
My plan is to not drain the gas but leave about 10L in just so I can burn the old gas off in the spring quickly. I do also want a car cover because I know I'll constantly be having to take boxes off of it that my roommates will put on it. I also plan on giving it an oil change before hand, but should I drain the oil completely? Should I drain anything else? It'll also be in the garage, not really temp. controlled but I usually run a space heater in the winter to work in the other space in the garage.
Any advice would help.
