Can you post any photos? I have the Volvo rails on my 850 wagon and two Thule cross bars that support all the accessories. Before that, I had a Thule roof rack with cross bars for the accessories. If you post some photos, I bet someone here can tell you what you need to do. What looks wrong?

I googled X-Pel, went to their site, and ordered directly from them. Their pricing was about the same as I could find anywhere else. I just covered my new projectors as the lenses on them were polycarbonate.
  3. In Topic: Has Anyone Done The Chrome Angel Eyes With Chrome Grill?

    Posted 11 Feb 2009

I did the chrome angel eyes on my green 1995 850 wagon. I have painted the inserts in the grill black but the outside ring and the cross piece with the Volvo emblem remain chrome. I thought about doing the black angel eyes. But after looking at photos of other installations, I liked the fullness of the chrome with the clear lenses. To my eyes, the black made the car appear much more aggressive - which my 5 speed NA wagon is not!

Other than that, I bought them on ebay. They were about $30 cheaper than the black ones. I have been very pleased with the quality of fit and finish. I did buy an Expel film kit for the 850. Even though it is two separate pieces for each side, it covers pretty well and is fairly invisible. The lenses on the Angel Eyes are some type of polycarbonate and will scratch or chip over time if not protected.

I am away from home for a few weeks and don't have photos to post. But as soon as I get back, I will put up some photos of the chrome installation with Sharp HID 55 Watt, 4300 K bulbs in the projectors. Serious light!!!

  4. In Topic: Easiest/quickest Way To Get Bright White Interior Lights...

    Posted 26 Jan 2009

I am not really wild about LED's. I did an LED install on my instrument cluster two years ago. Two of the large LED clusters have died in the last month. I decided to replace them with the standard incandescent bulbs. First of all, they are much cheaper. Second, I didn't have to sand them to try and get even illumination. Third, it didn't matter which way the bulbs were inserted into the fitting, the incandescent bulbs don't have a specific polarity and work either way. And forth, If I do tail light or Plate Light, I don't have to figure out resistors and such to avoid the bulb out warning light. So as my LED's die, I am going with more and incandescents.

That said, I did just replace my headlights with SharpHid 55watt 4300K bulbs. Those stay!! I didn't realize how much I wasn't seeing with halogen headlights!
