...turns out some wires going to the msd iginition were being crimped enough to make the short. i moved and straightened the wires, and the problem hasn't returned. will properly rewire when i get new wire and it's warmer out.

waking up a old thread, but my problem is/was very similar to this-- my #15 was blowing constantly with engine running or not. after much testing and frustration it turned out to have something to do with the central locking relay. i unplugged it, plugged back, and circuit wouldn't blow instantly anymore--for a while. problem seemed to come back (alarm would again go off for no apparent reason) even with a different relay. now i am having a major electrical short problem and it might be related but haven't fixed it yet. i can see sparks/arcing from my airbox shield to the body but need to find what wire is touching that shield, or what other metal is passing current through to the shield; when i push the shield to make full contact with the body the car dies instantly. probably wouldn't have even noticed if i wasn't trying to get a jump so late at night...
can't wait to troubleshoot this after work today in 12F weather!

since i just posted the above i might as well follow through with my results. looked again under the hood and saw the intake tube on the turbo wasn't quite on. didn't notice that when i looked a couple days ago, guess it finally came loose enough where i saw it this time. always check the easy and obvious first, and then a second time!

i've had a similar problem-- thought i fixed it but has returned, and that's why i came across this thread just now trying to resolve my problem--and one part of it was that my ignition coil died. eventually the car would no longer start after repeated tries and i discovered the coil just wasn't producing spark. i replaced it and car was good for a while. months later i replaced the cam and rpm sensor when i was getting intermittent stalls and skips on hard acceleration (just as i did before the coil issue), and again i was good, but now car is acting up again in the same way! who knows what needs to be replaced next. car has 200k on it so it can probably be anything. i will check the iac and fuel pump this afternoon but i think the walbro pump only has about 75k on it and in my 3 past experiences when a fuel pump goes out it doesn't ever work again and this is not the case for me.
