btw you meant the temp selector knob right..?? if so, still don't hear anything...so you think the motor is gone??
Where do I get one... what's the name of it??
Thanks for the help man!
Yep, temp. selector is what I meant.
That information is going to require someone more experienced in replacing said things as I have never been faced with the issue.
Hope you get it sorted out soon!
As I said, your Volvo dealer can read your CC fault codes and tell you exactly what needs replaced. I'm pretty sure the motors aren't too too bad of a job. But then again, what is easy when it should be in the Volvo game.

Yes, you should be able to hear a motor when you turn your selector knob. That is the motor rotating the flapper inside the ducts, thus controlling temperature.

Sounds like one of those little joyful motors may have failed back there that operate the flaps.....Volvo can read those CC codes, I'd start there so you can be sure you're tearing into the correct thing.
Put the key in Pos. II and turn the knob that is in question here......can you hear a motor behind the dash? If so there's a plastic portion that the motor actuates that likes to break as well. -
In Topic: I Think My Wastegate Actuator Is Dead....

Ian Carr, on 18 November 2009 - 01:55 PM, said:No, Aaron. I am saying that it SHOULD NOT be opening more at 10 psi, the arm should be pegged out by 7psi. Thats why so many people these days are looking to upgrade the wastegate actuator because the stock has a crack pressure of some thing stupid like 3-4 psi where aftermarket ones have a crack pressure of like 7-10 psi.
Oh ok, gotcha.
I need to stop thinking so hard when I've been up for so many hours after working all night.
I wonder how the aftermarket actuators are working for people........
