+1 Noticeable difference after 18t install between my old RICA stage 1 and new ARD Blue. The correct tune extracts the most from the 18t. Maybe not a safety issue, as others have already said, but you will want to get the ARD blue for performance.

Don't know about leaning out, but you'd likely miss the full benefits of the upgraded wheel without being tuned for it. After swapping from a 16t to an 18t in my car, the difference between the 16t tune and a new ARD Blue retune was quite noticeable. In particular, the old tune did not take full advantage of the 18t's top end. Still might be worth doing and then get the tune upgrade later.

Guess I'll try another Volvo mount and save the current one. If the new mount also stretches too much I'll have the option to try the window-weld mod on the old one. Thanks for the info.
