I have the same problem.
I was fortunate that when it first happened after messing with it several times it returned to cold. Unfortunately, today I tried the warm temps again only for it to get stuck there.
Even if you get it to work right for now, it is only a matter of time.

It was probably just a matter of time anyway.
I didn't do anything like that to mine and then one day I started getting the same thing. My clear on those spots is completely gone.

Mine (97) was single stage.
My 1997 has a clear coat, yours may have been repainted if it only has a single stage paint.

If he doesn't respond to the thread, contact HtownTurboBrick.
Your planned setup sound "similar" to what he is running....
If you are building the motor, upgrade the rods just to avoid the concern in the future.

If the plugs are already screwed regapping may not do anything. I would get new plugs and go to 0.028 and see from there.
Everyone keeps saying use OEM plugs but look at your owners manual, what does that say:
My 1997 850 owners manuals says:
For Turbocharged - Champion RC7GYC (or equivalent)
Notice that it does not say Volvo PN XXXXXX, it actually says CHAMPION!

F.Y.I. Fuel Octane in this clients state is also only 91 Octane, another risk factor to consider when pushing the limits of your engine.

There have been plenty of comments both positive and negative about your product and I think it would be beneficial if you were available to answer questions (in another thread obviously).
