Hey folks!

Just found a 2004 S60R that had engine fire, for sale at $6000. The question is "Is it worth investing?" In the photo the intake and air filter box had been removed, for some reason(I guess they were damaged). Someone also removed the plastic covers (blue).

Any expert input as far as what it takes to rebuild it, assuming that the engine is still ok?

I had a cracked plastic near the small pipe on the top the expansion tank and was leaking antifreeze. So went around and found a similar used one and cleaned and installed. Now the dash light for low coolant level is on! So looked into it and found out the floater (ring) in the tank doesn't float! It stays at the bottom when the tank is filled to normal level. Cleaned it more and again the same thing. It actually moves if you flip the tank upside down..

Have you experienced this painful situation?

I am going to service the front struts for the first time (170k miles) on the 850. Besides the struts (inserts) I am replacing the Spring Seats (the black part with a rubber hole in the middle priced at $23 at fcpgroton).

Do you replace anything else? Is it common to replace the Strut Mount Bearing ($75 ea), that is the plate that looks kinda square.
