Need Some Ebay Advice

08 May 2012 - 12:37 PM

Hi guys,

I put my Ipod Classic 80GB up for sale on Ebay.co.uk for 60 GBP and some guy in the UK bought it within 30 seconds.

I sent it to him in a tight box with a bubble wrap envelope around it so it was well-packaged. I formatted the hard-drive on it before sending it so it was fresh and checked that it turned on and asked to choose a language before packing it up. I never had a problem with it. I sent it through the Belgian post with a tracking number and it arrived in 4 business days.

This morning I got a message from the Buyer saying that he tried it on 2 different Macs and 1 PC and that it doesn't work properly, loads slowly etc.

I offered to refund his money once he's shipped it back to me. He now says he checked the hard drive and found errors and would like to keep the Ipod if I give him 40 GBP back (a partial refund) and he will keep the Ipod to try and fix it.

I smell a scam. What do you think and what can I do?

Thanks

2000 Xc Se W/issues

13 April 2012 - 11:42 AM

Hi all,

The car that I once co-owned in Sweden is having some troubles.
Overall it's been well-maintained and was at a good stage 0 a year ago. Even the PCV system was overhauled at that time.

Historically the car has had an idling issue - the idle would fluctuate between 400-1000 or so RPM.

A few weeks ago apparently the car started to have misfiring issues and the owners brought it in to the local Volvo Dealer (who is pretty incompetent usually in my opinion).
The dealer discovered that one of the electrodes had fallen off one of the spark plugs! (Genuine Volvo plugs which I had installed within the last 15K miles). The dealership replaced the plugs and checked the coils which were fine. They also performed a software update which fixed the idle issue I was told.

They were wishy-washy about whether or not the engine was "ruined" and that "time would tell."

Apparently, the car still misfires when it is being driven with more than very light application of the gas though it doesn't do it all the time. No one has mentioned the ETM and that light is not on, but that's my guess.

Any thoughts? Am I missing something? If the engine were "ruined" wouldn't it be constantly mis-firing? And no I do not believe that a compression test was done by the dealership.

Thanks for your ideas.

Afternoon In Sweden In An Amazon

06 April 2012 - 10:04 PM

Had a great day today with some Swedish friends. One of them has a nice Volvo Amazon that runs in top shape. We went to a little town out in the countryside of Skåne where there's a little gas station/museum with a bunch of old cars.

Enjoy!
