Well, not exactly a proper ECU -- there is a control box for the fuel injection that resides deep under the dash in 1800s. They are generally pretty robust, but I also know from experience that they do not like sudden voltage spikes ...
They are also much, much easier to access in 140s, where they are located under the passenger seat.
