P.S. in the factory label warning, it also said "2. Voltage for position ring: 12V" that was not allowed. isnt the voltage of the car 12V? i didnt understand what that part meant. can anyone clarify?

ok great looks like im going to do that then, but i have HID's for both the high and low beams. when you modified the cutoff was it just for low beams or both?

I used the same method, has worked for me for 6 months no problems so far. 35 watt bulbs will be fine in the housing. Do it, you will love it, it is a PITA but it is worth it imo.

35 watt is the same as the stock bulbs btw.

Dave, what did you wire the sidemarkers to, to have them stay on with the parking light? I haven't had that particular issue with my lights and it's pretty odd seeing that the separate parking DRL harness runs off the turn signal. If you wired the sidemarkers to the parking light signal wire on the turn signals I don't see how that will effect the low beams.

Sorry to hear about your mishap, Jon. Sucks to hear, but good to know you didn't mess up your new headlamps.

I do have a question though. Did you ever notice your low beams come on with the turn signal flash when locking your car after you plugged in that harness to your turn signals? I have this problem. I want the light strip to be on, but every time I do this, the low beam HID's come on briefly and has already burnt up one ballast. It's now unplugged. The only thing I can think of, is the fact that I have my sidemarkers wired so that they are on when the parking lights are on, and not just when I'm using the turn signals. I will admit I haven't unplugged my sidemarkers yet to test that theory.

They are halogen designed projectors, but people stick HID's in stock headlights without major issues so it's not like it really matters. But you end up with a very distinct _/_/ light pattern as opposed to the flat cut off you see on TSX projectors. However you could always do this mod http://volvospeed.co...1&#entry1385443 for that style cut off. However I personally like being able to illuminate road signs as my night vision isn't what it used to be.

How is the cutoff on these? I thought those are for halogens, might be wrong though. Can you take a pic please.
