Jaxx Posted May 4, 2006 Report Share Posted May 4, 2006 Last time this happened, volvo needed to replace the R front seat assmebly. part number was: 9449771-6.I can't seem to clear the SRS light, to make sure that it really was this, and not something odd throwing the computer off, etc.What is part 9449771-6? how hard is it to replace? DTC 2-1-2, 2-2-2, 2-3-2 & 2-4-2: Open Circuit Conditions For Code Driver/passenger airbag igniters resistance too high (indicating a wiring open circuit). Fault Symptoms None, except for operation of SRS lamp. Fault Source Open circuit in wiring, connectors or airbag module. Action Turn ignition switch to Off position, then disconnect battery ground cable.Disconnect electrical connector of suspect airbag module, then connect special tool 998 8695 to connector.Clear codes, then display codes.If code does not recur within 15 seconds, replace airbag module. If code recurs, proceed as follows:Connect ohmmeter between one of igniter connector pins and corresponding pin in crash sensor connector. Repeat for other pins in two connectors. If resistance is 0 ohm, wiring is intact. If resistance is infinite, module wiring is short circuited. Measurement must not be carried out directly on module, or deployment may result.Check wiring and connectors between crash sensor and module in question. If code 2-1-2 is displayed, also check contact reel for short circuit. Airbag module must be disconnected before carrying out this measurement.Ensure that code does not recur when new module has been installed.Code 2-2-2 particularly is the passenger side air bag. Remove the gove box and check that the connector is formly up and plugged into the bag. Also make sure the connector about 8 inches away to the left (in the glove box opening) is plugged together snugly. Further, the only consumer-available diagnostic system that can clear a SRS code (at least that I am aware of) is the laptop based software from OBD-2.com. Works like a charm. Weird but mine I bought for the Service light came with instructions and a separate switch to reset the airbag light. So, I guess it's software and the Draper.
