quick s70
Last week our wagon wouldn't start. I got the 314 cam sensor code. I removed the sensor, cleaned it (because Pick N Pull didn't have one), reinstalled it and cleared the code. After that the car started and ran fine the whole week. I even took it on a 400 mile run 2 days ago and it ran fine. Yesterday my wife calls me from work and says the car won't start again. She works in a prison and I can't go inside to work on it so we were going to have it towed home. I decided to walk her through the steps of checking and clearing the codes to see what would happen. She got the 314 code and that was it so I had her clear it and the car started right up. Why would clearing the code allow the car to start? I figured if the sensor was dead that was it but obviously its not wiped completely out if its still running and the only thing that we did was to clear the codes. I guess thats a good place for anyone to start if their stuck with an issue like this, might save you the trouble of waiting and paying for a tow home. quick s70
Cool, now I understand. Chances are the sensor is going out but the computer shuts down the fuel and ignition systems on its own because of the code being present. I guess I'll change out the sensor soon then. thanks.
