AndysR Posted August 6, 2008 Report Share Posted August 6, 2008 Well here as promised are a few shots of the car starting with shots of her on the day I bought it right up to how it looks today...The car was very quickly attacked using a PC polisher to rectify the dulled paint finishYou can see in this shot the rear 1/4 panel has been done but the door is still to be done and the difference is noticeable even on my camera phone from a distance.then I gave the engine bay a little bit of time....as a result of running over the badges with the polisher I managed to remove the chrome finish but I think it actually looks better with black badges...and had the wheels refurbished..When I initially bought the car I took it directly to the local Volvo dealers had the rear main oil seal and breather system replaced along with a major service and cambelt change and also had the drivers seat back rest renewed due to the worn leather as highlighted above so the seat now looks like this....Then the Volvo bug caught my brother and after a couple of months of searching he managed to grab this S70Rduring the time he was searching I discovered that my newly refurbished wheels weren't to too good a standard and the finish was chipping very easily so I had them redone by a company who came highly recommend in a darker colour and following this my brother and I had a mini Volvo photoshoot....Theres not even a year between the two car's but the differences in the models are vast..I then decided to grab a spare radiator grille from the local vehicle breakers and had a go at painting it and now this is how the car looks today..My brother is currently having his wheels reconditioned as I type this in the same colour as mine so will get some updated pictures of the S70 when its all done, so thats it for now sorry for the amount of pic's but if like me you like looking at pictures you won't find that an issue. Aequitas_Veritas Posted August 6, 2008 Report Share Posted August 6, 2008 wow, WAY sick cars, im SO jealous of both the s70R and your 850 airbag. We got the crappiest looking airbags here for 850s. You really should paint your door trim and handles to match the front and rear bumper trim, that would look so good. And im really digging the black emblems, i think i might do that myself.
