Ali
After seeing a mechanic who specializes in steering racks, the conclusion to the weird steering thump and occasional hard steering according to him is the lower steering u joint. I ordered one from FCP. The mechanic said he I could do it myself and told me that it is easy to replace it, however I want to make sure from someone on here who has done it or knows how to replace it.My main concern is, will it affect the alignment in any way. Do i have to be careful and make sure the steering wheel stays straight while replacing it?Any tips or full description of the replacement procedure would be great. Thanks
DonutsDemise
it will only affect the alignment of your steering wheel, not the wheels themselves.just park on level ground and make sure your wheels are straight, then when you put the new part in make sure the steering wheel is straight.
