derosa
I've had an issue for a while with the rear hatch not opening on my 98 70xc, I can pull on the levers inside and outside of the car with no results. I removed the inside cover but don't see how to unlatch it without unbolting the lock and there are no accessible bolts that I can find. Ideas? I'd really like to be able to use the back of my car. prasamin
there is the steel U shaped piece bolted down....you may need to adjust that back or forth....otherwise you'll have to unbolt the lock etc and get to it.
(_8*(l)Homer
uh oh. You need a new latch/lock mechanism. The only to get the back open is by prying that latch open to access the mechanics in it. That is what I did and ran a steel wire underneath so I can still unlatch it from outside. It prevents your alarm from arming though.
Mikemcc
I have had this problem when the handle was stuck and the car was locked. Try using the key in the drivers door lock to lock and then unlock twice quickly to open all locks. Make sure the hatch is closed tight and the handle is not stuck in the open position Good lick Mike
