  1. Drove the 944 20+ hours and 1500 miles to 944 Fest. Also did 5 30 minute sessions. Such a shit road trip car no ac, power-steering or radio. Now have a set of HRE's and Forgeline's for the car. HRE's have RT615K+ tires Forgeline's have RE71R tires Both sets are 225/50-16 square. Still sort of clean before the track day. Dirty after driving through some storms.

  5. Thank you for the reply, ive since had sleeves fitted to the block and got a twin plate organic clutch for her. The rn and d5 crankshaft are the same part number but the d5 one is sold way cheaper. Im gonna stick with the single vvt head and a blanking plate for the exhaust vvt for now as i already have all the hardware. Ive heard these engines dont really react to bigger cams much due to valve angle limiting flow, porting is a much better option. Im going to be running a 80c thermostat and focus rs oil cooler (radiator is aluminium and 25% bigger than stock with R water pump for 15% more flow) that set up is proven and cant find any real world results of oil temps on a t5 using an external cooler, plus the lines have to be pretty long! I took your advice on the bearings, only needed standard size, seems to be very little ware on the d5 crank. The block is currently on a stand all clean with new westwood sleeves installed. Any other help would be appreciated

  6. Do it. It’s an amazing car. Yeah, I got a fancier OBD2 reader than the one that I had for two things: the transmission needs to have a final fill at around 40°c and then the transfer case has adaptations that get reset with new fluid. Haha. Yes, lots of wheels in my small studio apartment. Using my bathtub as a paint booth for spraying bolts. I can’t believe I did what I did in that parking garage. Wheeling my tool chest from my apartment to the elevator and into the parking garage. It’s easy to forget where you started and to be grateful with things that you have (and for significant others to allow you to take over the entire garage).

  7. Set of Odysseus for the C30 - they need refinishing but for $50 couldn't pass them up

  8. Props for tackling the trans stuff at home, was any software adaptation part of the procedure or just a straight drain and fill? Admiring your space as well, I've been around long enough to remember you assembling BBS Style 5s in an apartment and parking space tool shed (hope that isn't weird?) appreciate the constant updates and interesting thread.

  10. The US-market 99 R axles (4sp auto) for the M66 perfectly. The US-market 00 R axles (5sp auto) do not fit the M66. If for some reason your axles do not fit, you would need the axles from a 99/00 XC, 99/00 AWD, or 99 R - those modes all have a 4 speed auto.
