The ABS 142 is the actual brake pedal (light) switch on the pedal inside the car, down under the drivers side kick panel. To get the brake pedal switch out is a trick without destroying it. Good idea to have the new one handy before starting. A bad brake pedal switch can also cause the "it wont come out of park" syndrone. To get the switch out easier, Push the brake pedal switch down, then shove the back of the switch, you will hear it ratchet, then the clips that hold it in place will release easier. When you put the new brake pedal switch in clip it in place, push it forward so it ratchets as far forward as it will go then slowly release the break pedal and it will set the switch.

ouch, do you have part numbers for each of these little guys? I'm assuming that pic of the pedal sensor is under the hood behind the fluid reservoir? Is it very important to fix? It has to do with the brakes, so I'm assuming I should get it done!
