The seal is a black rubber ring with some metal in the ring to give it some stiffness, it is in the transaxle and should be visible when you look directly into the hole where the axle shaft came out of (there are two seals, one per axle shaft, that is one on the Driver's side and one on the Passenger's side of the transaxle). If you have a stiff plastic tool with a flat or pointed end on it OR you have a small flathead screwdriver that you can put a small piece of cloth or maybe a thin piece of rubber over the head you will be able to use it to gently pry out the seal.
