That's all I needed to hear, so next question is it illegal to wrap the 40 in Swedish police vinyl with a blue light bar on the roof?
Probably. And please don't do it.

So are these constant problems or are there replacement parts that can prevent issues?
Oh yeah, there are aftermarket better replacements (killer B motorsports makes the pickup tube for example)

Well this thing is just gonna be a daily, I was looking at XS's originally but when I saw the XTs were also well within my price range the turbo bug started biting. You know if the NAs are as problematic with the oil?
A lot of the ones I've seen make a point to say the head gaskets were done and that both diff fluids were changed.
NA's are not as problematic (aside from headgaskets and oil pickup tubes) it's usually the turbo ones having the big issues

And then there's Joes STi..
Yeah a brand new car with denied warranty because it was "his fault" the oil pickup tube failed and he spun a bearing.

That's what you did to your STI?
Nah, I just blew the engine once. But those are the "common" issues with all the 2.5 liter engines.

Ringlands, headgaskets, spun bearings, oil pickup tubes cracking ...

Cool! What made you switch back to a P2R, Art?
I was looking to replace the subie for couple months now. For some reason that car didn't feel right. And there was always the possibility of the engine exploding in the next weeks/months.

I guess we'll see. But when I do get it, I'm only going to post real dark and shadowy pictures of parts of the car. Never the whole the thing. And I'll never tell you exactly what it is.
Oh just tell them. If not I'm gonna do it!
Hint: Kevin will be his best friend.

And yet VW dominates all other European brands with the largest global market share.
Waiting for Kevin's comment on how BMW is the superior and best selling car ever ...

Soooo Art....uhhh.... what was that sti averaging last year on the way to Carlisle?
ummmmmmmmmmm
17MPGs@70mph
 you don't want to know. Not to mention the seats were like sitting on limestone.
Oh now You complain??!!
-
Wait, so it Timbo just a big, fat phony?
Gabe, I averaged my S60R on the way from Carlisle at 32MPGs. And the key to this (and this will sound weird) is to keep it at 83mph.
-
yep.
mines supercharged though...
Real AWD and Turbo is where it's at ;)

For sure, this is good thoughts.
Remember on the way to MM and your coolant bottle got that huge crack in it?
Ha! And I still ran the River Run like a boss with that leak :P

Just got off the phone with the service manager a bit ago. He kinda said all the same stuff as I was thinking, just looks like the hose popped off for no reason (no cracks anywhere) so they're filling it and taking it for a spin.
It just seems so random that the hose decided to pop off. I would keep an eye on it for the next few days.

Sucks man, your S60 was the tits.
Thanks Leo!
