  4. Although this thing annoys me sometimes, it does clean up pretty nicely. I finally got around to editing some photos from this fall and wanted to share them since I think they do a great job of showing the how incredible this paint color is during golden hour.
  5. Replaced the faulty coolant temp sensor, cabin air filter, then washed it and enjoyed driving around on a nice warm spring day.
  6. A comparison between FWD and AWD is tough because the suspension is completely different. This means there’s no point in comparing the two spring rates. You want to compare how that spring rate gets applied to the wheels. So without knowing the motion ratio of each suspension setup, you can’t evenly compare the wheel rate. In this particular case, the awd IRS locates the spring further away from the wheel hub than the fwd delta link suspension. That increased distance means there’s a longer lever arm acting on the spring, so the awd spring needs to be stiffer to resist the wheel move

  9. What are you looking to get for those calipers Gary? Here are pads for the GT2 calipers: If you can measure the piston sizes, they have replacement dust boots and pressure seals
  10. Gary, can you post some closeups of the calipers? Kinda looks they’re either Brembo “Lotus/GT3” style calipers but could be the “GT2” style as well. Cant say I’ve seen that type of kit for these cars before, but there weren’t that many Brembo calipers around at that time period so that makes it easier
  11. Another vote for JRZ. FWIW - You can buy individual coilover assemblies from BC Racing so you could just buy the front BCs if you wanted something less pricey than JRZ or V3s

  13. Greg - I have 5K front springs on my front CX coils. They're kinda soft, not much firmer than stock. Ride is comfy, and handles decently, but definitely leaves something to be desired in terms of body control relative to other coilovers I've experienced on these cars. The AWD rear is completely different, so I wouldn't have any meaningful input on rates.   18. Some minor updates/incremental progress from the fall. Several years ago, I scored an OG metal mesh IPD grille from Adam @adamdrives and ran it on my 99 R for a short while before getting rid of that car. So after a few years in storage, I had a friend powder coat the grille for me. For those who remember, the original IPD grilles were either all silver or all black. I went with black mesh and a silver band as an OEM style play off the stock XC grille or the modified stock waterfall grille I had on the car.   20. I'd be lying if I said that stretch of road doesn't live rent-free between my ears now. I finally got the monkey off my back and made the same drive around Christmas without issue. Yup, all good to go. It's been 6 months and not a hiccup (watch that be a jinx, fml). Rumor has it that both Re-Volv and Rolling Motors are expanding to bigger shops in the near future. Highly recommend you take a ride up and drop your wagon off. Plenty of other guys have done the same thing. Heck, Anthony ( @apeacock) drove his wagon over 6 hours to Ben's a few different times now.

Fast forward 2 months after having my injectors cleaned and serviced (see post above) and I'm about 1 hour into the 200 mile, 3+ hour drive from my parents house in RI back to my place in NY. If you remember, the last time I made this drive, I popped a tire on a pothole and it took 5 hours to drive the rest of the way on the donut spare. I drove past the area where I got the flat tire and think that was the worst drive home I've ever had. Well, I sure jinxed myself....   24. Anyone else taking advantage of BF/CM deals right now? I bought a 3 pack of M12 batteries (2/4/6 AH) and a hole saw set in a packout case from Home Depot. Then bought a whole bunch of maintenance stuff from FCP - a new set of endlinks, a new TCV, a set of spark plugs, a fuel filter, and a TRW steering rack.
