  1. Thinking of selling the 5.0. It's rarely driven anymore and I now need the space that it occupies in the garage. Located in Bethesda, Md. Priced to sell... This is a 1990 740 that I installed a '93 Ford Mustang 5.0 in, using the Converse Engineering kit. Converse is best known for the supercharged 960 that he built for Paul Newman years ago. It was a very complete kit that included everything needed for the swap. No fabrication was needed on my part and it was a very straightforward project. I've been wrenching for 35 years (25 on Volvo) and am very particular with the work I do. Completed the project in 2003 and used the car as my DD for years until I picked up the S70 I'm driving now. Since then the car has been taking up space in the garage and been driven only occasionally. The motor was rebuilt before it went in the car and it has a few performance parts on it. Wanted it to be a reliable DD, so I didn't do much performance-wise. Small list of options include an Edelbrock Performer aluminum heads and intake manifold, Ford Motorsports headers, larger injectors, larger mass meter and t-body, and roller rockers. Engine has less than 35k miles on it. Trans is a Ford AOD automatic with a shift kit installed. Car was completely painted original color in 2006 and has been garage kept since. I removed everything (bumpers, lights, door handles, etc.) before painting and the job came out great. New bumpers were installed then also, since the original ones had faded badly. Interior is clean but nothing special. Probably much better than most cars of that year, but it does have wear on it. It does have power seats that I installed from a 760. Car is very complete and everything works, including the A/C. I've always driven this car with a dealer tag so there is no catalytic converter installed, although I do have a front muffler installed in that location. It could easily be removed to put in an aftermarket performance cat. Thanks for looking! This is from earlier today...
  2. My shop in Maryland. Cars on top are mostly junkers/parts cars, and cars underneath are customers cars. Space in Bethesda is limited, that's why the car stackers. Oh yeah, and the stackers are on the roof of our shop. The car is fairly clean. Definitely not worth what he paid for it.
  3. A customer of mine just bought this yellow. Any chance the previous owner is a VS member? Anybody recognize this car?
  4. I know you're not one to chat/blabber about things, so you have proven data to support this I guess?
  6. Mid 80's XJ6. Quick search shows a few on ebay now.
  7. I like that look also! Could always use the Jag CAI. I used a smaller battery, but turning the battery sideways works too...
  8. Some attempts at night photography...
  9. You're probably right, the tech would have never admitted he screwed up. You wouldn't believe some of the lame stories my techs tell me to try and cover there ass. Most of the time I'll re-do the job myself so I can see what really happened, since it's my reputation that's on the line.
  10. If the shop owner did tell you those things ahead of time, you should have given them the opportunity to fix it. Who cares what the tech said. Obviously he didn't want to do the job again and work for free, but the owner makes the decisions.
  11. The solenoid valve doesn't occupy much space. Almost seems silly to remove it and replace it with a resistor that's almost as big....
  12. #18 in the parts schematic is the solenoid valve. I left the solenoid valve on the car with the connector plugged in. Others have removed the solenoid valve and attached a 30ohm resistor to the connector.
  13. 65 Nm - 48 lb-ft according to Johann's write-up.....
  14. You're using the RN oil pan, right? Did you replace all of the seals inside the pan, specifically the 2 seals on the pipe inside the pan?
  15. Left leg getting tired? What clutch did you decide to go with?
  16. My son's because it's cleaner than mine......
  17. Locating tabs? What bearings are you using that have them?
  18. When shopping your local JY for used cam sensors always look for the newer style sensors which are less prone to fail.... Old style.... New style....
  19. The intermediate section uses 3 different size bolts. The largest bolts (M10) are TTY and Volvo recommends replacing them.
  20. After collecting dust in the garage for the last year, the 5.0 got a bath today.....
