  1. Last gen xc90's are a bargain. pretty hard to find anything with 3 rows that's sub 20k without a ton of miles.
  2. 2010 so first year.. only thing i really had to do with it maintenance wise other then sparkplugs etc., was i did a front end refresh.. replaced control arms and i had a torn cv axle so i replaced the drive axle as well. i think i did that around 110k.
  3. i had an xc60 with the 3.2 before getting the new s60.. that was a great motor, had to do very little to it maintenance wise (loved that timing chain design)

  7. I ran eibachs/koni yellows back in the day, the drop was impressive.. one of the lowest of the time, and actually the ride was pretty good. It did ride like a truck if you had the yellow's set to full stiff, tried all the settings and ended up at full soft. The car though given what it was handled pretty well

  10. Oh I'm sorry I just looked back over the photos, I was under the impression you cut the big square out with the metal bung attached and cut a square hole, then JB welded the exposed plastic.. Not tapped the hole and used a new fitting with the JB weld only securing the MAP into place and not actually keeping it sealed. If that even makes sense
  11. an oil pan and an intercooler end tank are apples and oranges here. Oil pan sees relatively low pressure compared to boost. If you see crank case pressure equivalent to what you're boosting you have much bigger problems to worry about then if your JB weld is holding. I'm sorry what?? Dynamic pressure? Why would it being flat over a small surface make it any less prone to failure in a system that has to maintain both vacuum and positive pressure?
  12. i've used JB weld on plastic end tanks before, don't get me wrong it will hold. But it was a temporary solution, the Oil that is thrown accumulates where ever there is any kind of crack/depression and it will wear down the plastic. Just seems like you're introducing a point of failure to the system, this is no longer fitting into a cast piece and you're pushing quite a bit of pressure at it. How did the stock solution mount in? was it threaded? I'm not being critical of your work or your solution it just surprised me this is what people opt to do when swapping intercoolers.
  13. seems like it would be easier and more legit to make a pipe for the map sensor and cut the silicone vs modifying a plastic end tank??

  16. detailed the hell out of the xc60, the paint was in bad shape and needed major correction. started with a meguiars medium cut, then moved to a rupes fine polish and finished with griots total seal... what a PAIN.
  17. yup, first featured in the 911 GT1. http://www.total911.com/technology-explained-mezger-engine/ when i did the oil change on the car for the first time i had 4 plugs, one per turbo, one for the oil pan, and the other for the sump reservoir. I got a giant coolant drip pan to drain it into, and when i undid the plug on the sump which was 22mm I had the plug drop down into my funnel get stuck and empty roughly 5 quarts of oil in less than 5 seconds, spilling over the funnel instantly and all over my garage floor. it was magical. after about 3 rolls of paper towels, i hacksawed the funnel... never again!
  18. turbo's are mezger motors.. pulled this from the web. The [Mezger intermediate shaft] design has been retained with the watercooled 996 Turbo, GT2, and GT3 models as their engines are based off the same 964 engine case with the same internals as the earlier aircooled engines. This intermediate shaft features plain bearings (no ball bearings) that are pressure fed engine oil for lubrication and never fail. If these bearings wear out, the engine may develop a slight knocking noise due to increased running clearance, but this condition will never result in a catastrophic engine failure.
  19. yeah, people hated on them for looking so different, porsche created a niche though by going away from the egg yolk lenses.. you could argue it's the most unique 911 turbo to date.. but that's sacrilege ;)
  20. looks like i'm really bad at getting photos, I need to grab a camera and do it right and not rely on phone shots but this is what you get for now. bought it completely stock with 38k on the ticker. since the purchase, have had some maintenance items.. 2 radiators, spark plugs, oil change yada yada. and then the go fast bits, so far a tune and exhaust.
  21. none of the aftermarket companies are cheap, those exhausts are pretty unique though. one of the few to have helmholtz resonators fabbed into them to eliminate drone.
  22. Long time no see buddy, we still have two volvo's in the stable. But it's going on something a little more german. It's an 03 996 turbo.
