These look great at night.
As you can see, I was messing with exposure times and camera settings.

HIDs are 35watt 6k SharpHID.

Wow. Outstanding cutoff.

thanks very much, can't wait to put them it, i guessing it would probably be a good idea to install the hids before putting the headlights into the car?
One thing i was wondering, can i hook up the angeleyes and those 2 little leds to a tiny 12v battery to test which wires are for what or will that burn out the bulbs?

yes that would work, or you can even just touch them to your battery and see which ones light up, dosnt matter the 12v source. I just touched them to my normal car battery, and they worked fine.

Kay. Here is what you need to do:

All the places with red are going to need trimming.
The red mark on the lower left of the socket needs to be flush with the side. If you look at the original picture you will see how it kind of curves out to the right. Shave that down so it is flat. Just on the lower left half, no need to do it on the upper left half. Obviously I cant show depth with my "diagram" but you need to shave it all the way down (down as in towards the glass of the headlight lense).

The middle red line area, you will need to trim a little bit. Just make a small, lenth wise vertical valley looking thing. Doesnt have to be deep, just makes some extra room for the return wire (is it called that?) on the bulb.

For the two red marks on the right...As you can see, they have edges to them. They come to a point. They make a 90 degree angle. Get what I am saying? Shave those down a little bit so they are rounded off and not pointy. Make sure you do this the entire length of the socket, as I mentioned to do on the mark on the lower left hand side.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Do it while it is in the headlight.
Tilt the headlight downwards so the shavings fall out...Stick a rag behind the area you are working...blow them out with leaf blower...put some grease on the dremel bit to catch the filings...I can think of more if you want laugh.gif

Dude! A leaf blower?!
Why not use an air compressor with a air gun tip attachment?!
And if you put grease on a dremel tip, it will just fly off with centrifugal force.

1. because I am a newb and dont have an air compressor
2. people use the grease method all the time to catch shavings. I am not saying glob it on like you are lubing up for some buttsecks, but put some on there to catch the shavings. it works.

Maybe on the headlight housing itself, but not the bit.
And I don't know about grease on a headlight housing either.
As it gets hot, any residue from the grease that isn't wiped up completely, or gets flung too far into the housing and not being able to get wiped, may over time create a film inside the glass of the headlight, like new car windshields get foggy with the shit the plastics release when they're new.

I think compressed air, a shop vac, or shaking out the filings would be the best route.

Couple daytime shots after I washed the car.
Yes, the hood looks funny in one of the pictures. I need to lower that hood latch a TINY bit so it sits even.

Also for all you reflector HID folks...this is a truly excellent example of why HIDs in reflector housings (like our stock lights) is not the best idea.

Yeah, maybe.

I think you might need to get a view from a couple 'o hundred feet away to really get a good idea of what it's like for an oncoming motorist.
But, I have my suspicions that you are right.

Meanwhile, wow...that looks fantastic.
