The Real Obama

Recommended Posts

I received this as a forwarded Email from a friend of mine. I wouldn't vote for this guy if you put a gun to my head. Change my ass, he's just another political opportunist from the socialist camp. Vote for him at your own risk.

I have edited the source and other forwarding addresses.

Subject: A forwarded Message, about Senator Obama

Date: Thursday, July 24, 2008, 10:06 PM

Subject: Fw: Obama

This is from an American soldier in Afghanistan.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hello everyone,

I am not a very political person. I just wanted to pass along that Senator Obama came to Bagram Afghanistan for about an hour on his visit to 'The War Zone'. I wanted to share with you what happened. He got off the plane and got into a bullet proof vehicle, got to the area to meet with the Major General (2 Star) who is the commander here at Bagram.

As the Soldiers where lined up to shake his hand he blew them off and didn't say a word as he went into the conference room to meet the General. As he finished, the vehicles took him to the ClamShell, pretty

much a big top tent that military personnel can play basketball or work out in with weights, so he could take his publicity pictures playing basketball. He again shunned the opportunity to talk to Soldiers to thank

them for their service. So really he was just here to make a showing for the American's back home

that he is their candidate for President. I think that if you are going to make an effort to come all the way over here you would thank those that are providing the freedom that they are providing for you. I swear we got more thanks from the NBA Basketball Players or the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders than from one of the Senators, who wants to be the President of the United States. I just don't understand how anyone would want him to be our Commander-and-Chief. It was almost that he was scared to be around those that provide the freedom for him and our great country.

If this is blunt and to the point I am sorry but I wanted you all to know what kind of caliber of person he really is. What you see in the news is all fake.

In service,

CPT Jeffrey S. Porter

Battle Captain

TF Wasatch

American Soldier

How do you know this isn't McCain spam?

Maybe instead of photo ops with soldiers he went straight to the officers to talk turkey about their opinions on the war?

CPT Jeffrey sounds a bit whiney. Probably a bit of an attention whore, too.

so you are saying it is Ok for a representative that wants to be the next Commander in Chief to snub soldiers and not acknowledge them? (saying that this e-mail is real)

Two sides to each story. It's enough to be there without acknowledging each soldier for their efforts. This could be perceived as more of a faux pau then a snubbing or a true reflection of poor character.

Did he not spend enough time, did he walk too fast, did he not salute properly, did his socks match his pants? Who cares?!?

Let's get back to the most important issue. Does Capt. Jeff think it's best for us to be in Iraq for the next 12 months or for the next 12 years? That's one of the key issues that actually impacts our soldiers and all of us.

Very interesting mix of replies. Not voting for an old white guy is not a reason to vote for the inexperienced black guy, just bad politics. This is not spam, I received this from legit sources I choose to leave anonymous for my own reasons. If you don't believe this is a relevant behavior from the apparent messiah-in-chief, you need to look deeper and connect the dots. I'd rather have an old white guy thats seen war, than someone who assumes his way is the best by theory alone. The lack of support for the U.S. military shown buy the aged Vietnam generation is appalling and pervasive. El Director is a representative of the education machine, indebted to socialists and the all -powerful unions that Obama sleeps with, so I understand and can debate his position, and we have in the past. You other youngsters had better do your research on social positions of the candidates. Whatever you think, at least get the facts. I'm an old white guy that wore the uniform. If my kids are going to wear it, I would rather have Johnny Mac making the decision. He is not my first choice believe me. None of the Republicans are conservative/libertarian enough for me. I'm not going to go into the pluses and minuses of Dem's versus Republicans, they are no longer that far apart in ideology. Small government, low taxes, and trust the spirit of the citizens to solve the problems. Let the free market decide!

How long have we been in Europe, South Korea, or Japan? I'd pull those soldiers first, but those economies would collapse, and I bet they would yell and scream about us leaving. Yeah it's about oil. I can't wait until they start drilling in my backyard, and building a nuke plant next to my kids school.

Captain Jeff, as you so disrespectfully refer to him, is in Afghanistan. Get a map.

By the way I am extremely passionate about this subject. Duh.

CPT Jeffrey sounds a bit whiney. Probably a bit of an attention whore, too.

Lets see, a commissioned officer in a combat zone is whiney, and an attention whore? Could you be more off topic with your commentary? I know your whinning about gas prices, the summer heat, and your taxes, and no one is shooting at you. Officers are not allowed to voice political opinions when on duty. I bet your whinning when you can't find a matching pair of socks your Mom washed for you.
