first volvo in the family. dad drives a saab. i suppose that could be why i like the euro look. i wnated a saab originally but settled with a volvo. my parents didn't want me getting a saab because of the cost of repair for my dad's so far. volvo is really the same but i think they felt better since i was at least getting safety. before that my dad had a pathfinder and a gran prix, my mom had a van and now a durango. saab was the first moderately fast car and mine's the second.

my dad had one bettle. with like three engine tranplants. my mom had a citroen and a ford fiesta. when they got married, they owned volvos from then on. they had two 240DLs, then a blue 740gl, then me, then a 960 when we moved to the states, and now my mom has a s80. somewhere in there is a for taurus. and '89. it was a pos. lol. my dad owns a mercedes e430 now. v8 torque ftw. neither of them are into performance, or modifications or anything. every time i talk about getting rims my dad is like stfu. lol. so its just me that like going fast and stuff.

joey is at school.

dad had a 244 GL, silver, black interior, manual that he then sold to my uncle and my dad bought a 740 TIC 1990, White on red leather, loved that thing, wagon, but then he sold it before i turned 15 and told him i wanted a Volvo wag, haha. Now he has an S80 T6 as do I and that turned me onto them.

Mom has had a Dodge Caravan, old school, and now a chrysler town and country, sister drives a shitscape, so I sorta got the Volvo gene.

I drive an F-350, a tuned Datsun 240z, a Buell Lightning (motorcycle) and a couple of 1995 Volvo 850 Turbos. I can't say it is the fastest of my vehicles but if I take everything into consideration (fuel consumption, comfort, room for stuff, room for friends, etc) Volvo is by far my favorite. It gives me enough speed/performance to have fun, enough room to carry everyone, enough comfort for long hauls and enough space to carry just about anything I need (unless it is huge and then the F-350 comes into play).

My mom always had 240s, which I didn't like, then had 1 850 but I didn't ride in it much. I needed a car for real estate and found a cheap 850. I loved the comfort but the performance wasn't any good so I went out and bought the turbo. With these cars being so inexpensive and with lots of aftermarket parts I think they are a great choice for someone looking for the best of both worlds, comfort and performance while staying within a reasonable budget.

as early as i remember my family rocked volvo's..

had a diesel 240 and grew up with a 240 sedan and a station wagon.. then a 760 turbo.. i got the 240 sedan when i turned 16 then was eventually given the 760 turbo around 18-19..

that lasted about 6 months considering the car had over 300k on her, then i bought the 850 turbo.

the dad still rocks an 850 wagon, N/A in all of its glory; and they just recently purchased a cherry 1993 240 sedan for my younger sister's to drive.
