Anyone here have 15mm spacers on the rear? I am adding a set to fix some rim/clearance issues, and was wondering what is easier. Rolling the rears or trimming them? I rolled my front 20mm but the rears are more robust. I was thinking trimming the metal and riveting the liner to the trimmed lip might be a better idea.

I should be receiving my 15mm spacers soon. My rear fenders are already rolled, so I should be ok with the fitment. The body shop just trimmed the liner and rolled the fender from about the in the center and forward about 5" or so.

This fronts or rears? I rolled the fronts but the rear has a 20 mm lip that looks like its a weld. Usually welded material does not bend that well. Well not without taxing paint. Thats why I was thinking trim the 20mm lip to 10mm and just drill new holes for the rivets. That way the liner could remain and do what its supposed to,

I am thinking about getting spacers. Do you already have them on the front? From my understanding if you only put them in the rear it will create more understeer in the handling of the car, if thats your goal then do it. Spacers (in general) will also create more stress on wheel bearings, xtra load on bolts that can shear them, and you could get warped brake rotors too. Not trying to burst any bubbles as Ive said Im also thinking about getting some too, but the debate in my head goes on.

Fronts have been spaced out 15mm for over a year now to allow clearance for my front brakes with 0 problems. I personally do not like spacers. Only use them if you have to. IE brakes, or rim fitment. Not looks. With that said, my car looks really jacked with the front spaced 30mm and the rears set stock. I may just have a custom hat built for my rotor so the spacers are built in like on my front end. Then again I may just say screw it and replace rear rotors everytime I do my oil like I have been

Ok then youll have a balance closer to stock. did you notice any less (noticeable) understeer with just the front spacers? just curious cause that would be enough reason for me to make my car look jacked if it would corner with less front wheelspin it really wouldnt bother me.

Charles, I am doing the rear's with 15 mm spacers. I will try to take some pictures for you. I don't remember the lip of mine having welds, it looks like just about a 90 degree lip. Could there be a slight difference between a sedan and wagon rear fender?

I have to use a spacer. My rims do not clear the caliper. And yes I did get R brakes and they are installed on one side. Look awesome, now if I could only get my pegs back on wink.gif. As for less under steer, I dunno. I changed brakes at the time and the increase in braking forced seemed to exaggerate the plow effect. These are big FWD cars. They are never gonna be quick through sharp corners. If you look at the set up, the front end has a lot of travel with very long control arms. Because of that no matter what you do the car is gonna dive first, roll second, turn in last. As for saloon vs estate differences I would think they are the same. Pull back your liner and see if it feels like you have 1 layer of sheet metal or 2. On mine I have 2 layers there.

yeah theyre big alright, but not that heavy. thats why I feel I really NEED and lsd, cause I know that would almost cure whats ailing my sedan in the curves. the sedan is about 100 pounds lighter than the wagon, but the handling characteristics are the same
