OK, I'm fed up with this timing pull crap.

If thats whats happening I can understand your point, but you really don't know thats whats happening. You need to drive up here so I can put my Scan tool on it and then you take me out for a ride. tongue.gif Then we will know exactly what is happening with the timing, the injection pulse, the O2s etc.

Just two days ago, I upgraded my injectors to the Green ones used in the V70R, and the new S60R. What has happened is now my gas mileage to and from work has changed from 22.5 MPG to 32MPG. Thats a good thing. The bad thing is that the green injectors can flow a lot more than my stock 1995HPT injectors do, and My ECU doesn't know it. So when I go WOT It feels like I'm almost flooding the car, it doesn't dye but it's not as snappy as with the older injectors. The ECU needs big time adjustments. I'm going to Scan tool mine just to see whats happening with the WOT operation.

Rich, you know I'd gladly head up there to get some logging done. Right now I have the stock injectors, I will be upgrading to RC 440's and rrfpr, it'll be fun having someone tune this ecu lol.

I don't really have much faith in 140K injectors, fuel pump, makes me scared sometimes.

I really feel these injectors are choking at 17 PSI @ 5500 RPM though as well, you're absolutely right

I agree 100%. The car wasn't designed for 17PSI thats why I've changed my injectors, I know when the new engine and turbo gets here, it's going to need them. My cost on the Green ones was $100 each, they go for $160 each.

Yea... I tried again last night, 1st and 2nd were fine, 3rd @ 5500 RPM I felt her start to strain and immediately let off. It was 67 degrees out too and had her at 17 PSI on the 16T... just wasn't fun to feel that.

List on RC Engineering's site is $89.75/inj. for 440CC injectors... we all know no one pays list biggrin.gif

Bigger exhaust, pull your AC, get a bigger intercooler, then Megasquirt the car and run methy injection.

Bay 13: You getting the MPG from tank fills or the info computer? I can imagine the info comp gets its MPG rating from the speed sensor and the injector PW, but since it expects smaller injectors, and the comp is adjusting for the injectors entirely inadvertenly because of the o2 feedback control, it's reading lower average PW over a certain distance, and is miscalculating the MPG. Unless of course this is comign from tank fills, which promotes this one to entirely inexplicable smile.gif

I've only been though a little over a half of a tank of gas so right now I'm just reading the MPG on the trip computer.

I agree it sounds too good to be true, I'll let you know once I've had a chance to run a few tanks through.

You have got me thinking about how the computer actually figures out the numbers, from memory I can't remember if Injector pulse length is provided to the instrument cluster. I'm going to check on Monday. It just happen so fast I thought it was great until you guys made me think about whats really going on.

I can almost promise you that its simply from the injector on-time rather than tank consumption over time. There is no way your mileage went up 10mpg while at the same time you car is too rich under load. Injector PW would be lowered, therefore fooling the computer into thinking you're using much less fuel, while really all its doing is leaning out those huge injectors to try and get the a/f ratios back under control.

Rich,

one good thing is that it shows your injectors are working... and will show you the relative load placed on them vs. the stockers smile.gif

did you replace the fuel pump with another stock one? or a walbro 255 unit? Also what about the regulator?

Well, last weekend a budyd and I were putting a nitrous kit on my buddy's SRT-4 and we put a Walbro 255 in there as well, however that car has an in-tank pump, I believe we do too. If I'm not mistaken it's under the rear seats/trunk area, however have yet to really investigate it.

My Walbro pump wasnt hard to put in. For me it was a little bigger in Dia so it didnt slide into the sending unit as easy as i would have liked it to be. As far as the connection it plugged right into my Fuel pump harness.
