do the seats in a 96/97 850 R have more side support then the ones from a T-5R, cause me seats feel really flat, and I sat in the ones from a later R and the felt better. Could side support be added to and existing seat and then custom upholstered?

Thanks

Will was just commenting on that when he was sitting in my car. I think the R seats do have more side bolstering.

im 6ft2 220 lbs and a 38 inch waist, and let me tell you sparcos dont fit me that well. I have driven both the t5 and the r and I cant tell the difference off the top of my head. Neither have good side bolstering. The most comfortable seats Ive ever sat in are from my friends vw R32. They are leather konigs, and they have the bolstering in all the right places they just hug me in the turns, but at 2300$ a seat (prolly cause of the airbags in em) they can keep em. I also like cobras a LOT.

maybe it's the placement of the suede. the 95 t5r has the suede on the side bolsters rather than the middle, the 96/97 r has the suede on the middle and regular leather on the side bolsters.. or something like that smile.gif

Yes the suede seems to grip better in the R seats because you are directly on it.

The R's have MUCH more bolstering. The T5-R's seem to have reupholstered regular seats where as the R's have special seats with much more bolstering, and the suede in the middle helps out too. But, the R's definitely have more bolstering.

I'm 5'7" 210 with a 48" chest and sparcos fit me. I think you just need to try another size.

they might fit you fine, but they were digging on my sides in the turns, it mightve just been that model seat, thats why i posted my waist size, and my lovehandles stick out further than my waist so its not really an accurate number laugh.gif

Just get cloth seats and smack some velcro on your wings. You will do fine laugh.gif

LOL UFC what a joke. In anycase like most contact sports you have weight classes. Of course Atom weight and fly weight guys are skinny. If you want beef go look at someone like Mark Russel, or Mark Selbee(sp). Also as far as shootfighting or Muay Thai, anyone who only knows one style is gonna have lots of weaknesses.

BTW I just confirmed with a buddy from a junk yard that the bolsters in the R and T5R are the same. Maybe you guys are just seeing older T5R seats that have been flattened. Dunno

Come on, it's entertaining. wink.gif

I saw a Pride fight when I was in Japan, the action was great. There was a guy with a Muay Thai background against a wrestler and he won his fight pretty quickly.

Another doctor I worked with there trains for it, but doesn't actually compete. I saw his work out one day. I can't believe what they go through.

yeah I have 2-3 broken ribs any given year. That why bolsters in seats do not really impress me.
