Hi,

Some may remember me from before. I had an 850 (prolly still in signature) but got rid of it late summer. Well, I just purchased a new car online and now I just need to figure out how to get it shipped to Iceland! biggrin.gif

Here is a piccie from the seller:

(1999 S80 T6, 107k miles, loaded with everything...)

Not much info in S80īs available, but I will probably starting modifying it soonish. Will start off mildly with the modifications then increase it probably when itīs spring time again.

Well, just wanted to say "Hi again!" and be sure to expect lots of questions from me again, hehe.... biggrin.gif

I know... jeez... wonder how long that would take? They must put it in a container or something.

Heh,

Actually I can get it to Iceland within a week, but itīs costly. Itīs in South Carolina, near Greenville at the moment.

The peggies look excellent on the S80 in my opinions, see Junīs Volvo.

The shipping isnīt all that pricey, but if you add the insane Icelandic taxes the thumb rule is, USA price x 2.5 for Icelandic on-the-street price. Basically means, a 10.000USD car in the US would cost me 25.000USD after shipping, taxes etc.

I can fly the car to Iceland from NY, takes less than a week or via a ship, takes about 2 weeks. Could probaly FedEx it too for less than 3 day delivery, hehe! biggrin.gif (Pricey!)

I do think 18" Pegs look nice on the S80, but the stock rims look REALLLY beautiful after you wash the car and put some shiner on there. I honestly never would have replaced them. Plus, if that *is* the same color as mine it doesn't look sporty really so a sporty wheel won't match so well, IMO.

Thanks for offering to check out that car, Bitjockey. But it has already been checked out locally for me.

A few of the standard S80 wheels are Okish, these being one of them (Arrakis) in my opinion. But they are meant to give an executive look not a sporty one.

I belive that the pegs will come out great even if the car is green. Here in Iceland 90% or more of the S80s have the ugliest S80 alloy wheels. I hope the guy who decided to have those wheels as standard is no longer working at Volvo, what a horrible choice! smile.gif
(As seen in the picture below)

Would be great having Pegasus wheels and being the only one different! biggrin.gif

Actually itīs not that cheap, itīs about 1900USD. And then add 40% customs tax and above that 24,5% sales tax. (which adds on transport within the US, from US to Iceland and the customs tax).

So that basically means, a car costs 9000USD in the US. 500 for transport within the US and after everything has been added, the on-the-street price will be...

22.650USD
